4th Generation Chinese American | Family Origin from Hong Kong | Grew Up in Seattle, WA
ABOUT CULTURE:
Culture is so many things to me. Culture includes my belief system, my upbringing, core values, social behaviors, traditions, art, honor, symbolic meaning, and distinctive identity.
ABOUT UPBRINGING:
Growing up, I felt like I was Caucasian, but I knew in my heart I was not. It was confusing trying to navigate my Asian roots in a "white world." It wasn't bad, but I sometimes felt like I did not fit in. Cosmetics, skincare, haircare, magazines were all targeted towards a Caucasian crowd.
I was raised by strict Chinese American parents. My homelife was quite different from my Caucasian friends, and sometimes I resented it. Looking back, my parents raised me humbly--always thinking of others, doing the right thing, and being less self-important.
ABOUT LIFE EXPERIENCES:
After 15 years of marriage, I divorced my husband. It was hard, but I was able to become independent and raise 2 beautiful children. I am stronger than ever and living my best life.
ABOUT WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD:
My family. In Asian culture, family is everything. I love my whole family--from immediate to extended. We celebrate and help each other. They are very important to me.
ABOUT THE FUTURE:
All I want is to be healthy, strong, and present for my children. I want to always be a kind person in a not so kind world. I want to keep travelling the world and experiencing different cultures.
BEST ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED:
Stay strong in your faith. Keep your loved ones close.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Thank you, Hannah Cho, for your wonderful product! I used to want double eyelid surgery, but now I'm quite happy with my eyes and looks because of your monolid band lashes. Thank you!
